It looks like ARC Raiders has taken over the world. I think a big part of the success of this extraction shooter from Embark Studios (beyond its obvious quality) is that people are burnt out on Fortnite and its ilk. Of course, we’ll show back up for The Simpsons and Power Rangers stuff, but it takes something like that to build up excitement for battle royales these days. In the meantime, everyone is raiding arcs.
The Outer Worlds 2 and Dispatch filled in the top three. I continue to put Outer Worlds 2 into the box labeled “games that people will only grow fonder of over time.” Obviously it is getting a lot of love, but in my opinion, that love is still somewhat muted. Dispatch, meanwhile, is gaining quickly in word-of-mouth praise. It’s a narrative-choice game, but one with excellent writing and performances. And for me, it’s hitting.
Other new games on The Bomb 12 include Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD, The Seance of Blake Manor, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment.
