Can I interest you in some The Bomb 12? It’s chock full of good video games. Some would argue that it’s too many video games. Others might wonder what the hell a “chock” is. Either way, it’s Hades II on top of the world as it exits early access and everyone jumps aboard its god-slaying action.
Yes, that means Hollow Knight: Silksong has dropped to No. 2, but plenty of people are still playing that (including myself). I’m really happy to see Baby Steps in the top 3. It is such a good game and also so different from everything else on the chart. I understand the tendency to dismiss “streamer slop,” but Baby Steps is so much more than that. It’s worth trying even if these games typically aren’t for you.
Other new games worth calling out include Megabonk, which really came out of nowhere. Get this, it’s a roguelite (of the Vampire Survivors variety), and it rules. It takes its formula, gives you 3D visuals and movement, and it owns.
Oh, and Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor went into 1.0, and people are super into that as well. I feel bad for not trying it.
