Now that the Alabama basketball roster is finalized, players know what numbers they’ll be wearing for the 2025-26 season.
Once Labaron Philon confirmed his return to the Crimson Tide for his sophomore year, it seemed like assistant coach and recruiting mastermind Preston Murphy’s work was done.
Pro tip: Never assume Murphy is done.
Even before Philon made it official, head coach Nate Oats believed the roster was strong enough to make another deep March Madness run. Now, with his point guard back, Oats has two more pieces: Murphy’s son, Preston Murphy Jr., and big man Collins Onyejiaka, who reclassified from the class of 2026 to join Alabama this fall.
The playing Murphy will wear No. 11 and Onyejiaka will take No. 34, both numbers previously worn by Crimson Tide standouts. Of 14 players on the upcoming roster, nine are wearing numbers worn by alumni throughout their tenures in Tuscaloosa and who made up Alabama’s Rocket 8 team that went undefeated in SEC play during the 1955-56 season.
Below is a look at every Alabama player in program history who’s worn the same numbers as the current 2025–26 squad.
