At last, our long national nightmare (Love Island season 7) is over. And who is walking away with the $100,000? None other than fan-favorite Amaya Espinal! That’s right, Amaya Papaya won the Isle-a. Or Island, whatever. Bryan Arenales was also there. Heading into the finale were Olandria and Nic (a.k.a. #Nicolandria), Amaya and Bryan, Iris and Pepe, and Huda and Chris (absolutely insanely a.k.a. HudaChris). Bryan and Amaya split the $100k and smooched off into the sunset at the end of Sunday night’s climactic two-hour finale.
If Amaya and Bryan won Love Island season 7, who were the biggest losers? On the same night Amaya and Bryan were crowned, fired bombshell Cierra Ortega posted a smattering of the death threats she’s gotten since her use of racist slurs was surfaced online. Yulissa Escobar, the other Love Island season 7 cast member who left after their racism was exposed, also claimed the backlash against her was “online brutality.” Speaking of the 2021 video where she uses the N-word, Escobar wrote “That video doesn’t define me. But how the internet treats people? That says everything.” All these issues may be addressed with the Love Island reunion episode, which airs August 25 on Peacock. Ariana Madix and Andy Cohen will co-host, because there’s guaranteed to be enough drama for multiple hosts.
