As the 2025 high school football season continues in the Texas Panhandle, its time to reflect on and highlight a key component of any football team: the marching band.
Bands infuse teams with energy and excitement, also providing crowds with entertainment throughout the game. Competition does not just exist on the gridiron either, either, it exists between the bands.
Marching bands around the state will compete at area contests in late October and early November with the chance to earn a spot at the state contest. Class 2A and 4A teams who qualify for state will compete at the Alamodome Nov. 3-5, while Class 1A, 3A and 5A teams perform Nov. 10-12.
As with its football teams, each school takes great pride in its band and its members. Which band is the best in the Texas Panhandle, though? It is time for the fans to have their say.
West Plains won last year’s poll, receiving 52,179 votes, which was 28.28% of the 184,528 total.
Voting is now open and will remain open for two weeks.
