Which Buccaneers player was snubbed by ESPN's Top 100 Players of 2025 list?

The NFL is currently rolling out its Top 100 Players for the 2025 Season. They are doing it exclusively on social media this year, compared to specials on NFL Network, compared to years past, in hopes of garnering more engagement, one can assume.

Not to be left out in the cold of the discussion of the top 100 players in the NFL, ESPN threw its hat into the ring by publishing its own.

While several Bucs have made the rankings on the NFL Media side of things, four players made it on ESPN’s. On the list are Antoine Winfield Jr. (85th), Mike Evans (80th), Baker Mayfield (72nd), and Tristan Wirfs (22nd). However, someone who did not make the cut and was a notable snub was defensive lineman Vita Vea.

ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler asked league executives about players who were left off the list, and as he points out, just because nationally folks are dismissing Vea, it doesn’t mean those in the NFL are. One offensive coach told Fowler, “He’s the first guy you worry about when you play Tampa. He can dominate the run game and has more pass rush than given credit for.”

The Bucs defense is loaded up and ready to make an impact in 2025, if they do, Vea will be a reason why.
