Both Hampton and Norfolk State have endured rocky starts to the 2025 college football season. Each FCS program will be hunting its second win of the season Saturday in an all-Virginia battle at Armstrong Stadium in Hampton.

Michael Vick’s Norfolk State team hasn’t won since its thrilling, 34-31 overtime win on Sep. 6, but the Spartans have been competitive in nearly every game. They lost to Sacred Heart by just a field goal in a 31-28 heartbreaker on Sep. 20, and they narrowly lost to Wagner, 18-13, on the road last weekend.

Hampton also got its first and only win of the season on Sep. 6 (vs. 27-20 vs. Elizabeth City). The Pirates then lost a 33-30 nail-biter to North Carolina A&T before getting trounced by Howard and Elon the past two weekends.
