What does Tennessee Titans' Will Levis think about quarterback competition?

Throughout the offseason, members of the organization have openly talked about the Tennessee Titans having an open competition for the starting quarterback position, and that Will Levis will have a shot.

After two days of Phase 3, it appears that Levis won’t go down without a fight. Before practice, head coach Brian Callahan addressed Levis and how much he has progressed heading into year three. Levis spent part of the offseason training with quarterback guru Jordan Palmer and has improved his mechanics.

“I’ve been happy with Will. He’s had a good offseason.” Callahan said, describing his young signal caller.

While that may be true, it still appears that Levis will be the odd man out in this quarterback competition. Tennessee did not draft Cam Ward first overall to have him sit on the bench, and it appears that Levis understands his situation.

“I don’t plan on shifting my mindset,” Levis said, “I’m just going to be ready to quarterback whenever I need to.”

While Levis has flashed some improvement during offseason work, there is still a long way to go. He threw the only interception during the open session on his final rep, a pick-6 that closed the period. His propensity for turnovers is why many outside the organization still believe that he will be traded before the start of the 2025 campaign. Currently, he is in Nashville, focusing on improving and being the best teammate possible.

“I think anyone who’s ever been in my situation can agree that it sucks. I’m just trying to do everything I can not to let it affect me. I’m just being the same dude every day in the building being here for the guys.”

Levis is present in Nashville and providing competition for Ward, which should make both quarterbacks better in the long run. Will he still be with the Titans in August? At this point, no one can answer that. The only thing sure is that Levis will show up every day ready to compete.
