The West Bengal government has directed state-run medical colleges to introduce biometric systems and conduct security audits following the RG Kar Medical rape and murder incident. Principals will oversee safety measures, and a special scheme called ‘Ratri Sathi’ will be implemented. The recruitment of 12,000 police personnel and installation of CCTVs are also planned.
