Hyderabad: A weather-damaged tree on Nims campus in Panjagutta has spread fear after the recent incident where a tree’s fall led to a man’s death on Tuesday.
“We have been asked by GHMC officials to give details about the mortality age of the tree, along with proper measurements. We have written to the forest department asking for permission to cut the tree and to the GHMC to provide us with the manpower for the purpose,” said an official from the administration wing of NIMS.
Its director, Dr N. Bheerappa told Deccan Chronicle that proper precautions are being taken to assess any damage caused by trees.
“We have already written to the forest department and to the GHMC for pruning trees. It will be done within a week. NIMS is very active in assessing such threats and is prompt in acting on them,” he said.
