Ohio State went out to the Pacific Northwest in one of the most hostile environments and walked away with a very business-like win over a very good Washington team, 24-6. But the score doesn’t quite speak to the challenge the Huskies provided. They played very well and were just down by one score until midway through the 4th quarter because of their ability to play fast and physical against the No. 1-ranked team.
Washington head coach Jedd Fisch met with the media in Seattle after the game and wasn’t happy about the loss to the Buckeyes, but was encouraged by his team’s fight and competitive level against a program that has been among the best in college football.
Fisch was also very complimentary of the Ohio State players and coaches, and it’s one of the reasons we like to keep tabs on what the opposing coaches have to say about the Buckeyes after being on the field with them. If you missed any of what Fisch said, we have the complete postgame press conference thanks to the UW Athletics YouTube channel.
Fisch praised his team’s play, recognized how difficult the Ohio State defense is, how well-coached the Buckeyes are, and more. Check out his entire 11-minute postgame comments and then get ready for the next OSU game against Minnesota at home next Saturday.
Ohio State now sits at 4-0 and should take this momentum into the next few games.
