Patrick Bamford will be playing Premier League football next season – PA/Owen Humphreys
Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has reignited a long-running feud with Chris Wilder by leading a foul-mouthed chant at the Sheffield United manager during wild Championship promotion celebrations.
Bamford was among the Leeds players who celebrated with supporters following their promotion to the Premier League being confirmed on Monday. Sheffield United are consigned to the play-offs after a dreadful run of results in April.
Players headed to Elland Road to continue the celebrations and Bamford led a chant in front of fans. The 31-year-old sang “Du, du, du….” at supporters, who responded “Wilder is a w—–”.

There has been bad blood with Wilder since he guided Sheffield United to automatic promotion in the 2018/19 season, with Leeds missing out after reaching the play-offs.
“We’ve had one defeat in 13 and I’ve got muppets from Leeds talking about the pressure being on us,” said Wilder at the time. “[Patrick] Bamford and [Adam] Forshaw and a couple of others saying ‘it’s over to you’ and this, that and the other.
“They got beat seven times since Christmas. We’ve been beaten once. We’ve set it up from Christmas to be in the race and we’ve steamrolled it. After the international break, two points a game. That’s promotion form right the way through in the pressure part of the season.
“Listen, don’t mention anything about bottle and b——- or about us dipping out.”
Wilder’s men have failed in their bid for automatic promotion this season, after four defeats in five games. That has allowed Leeds and Burnley to secure the top two positions in the Championship.
Wilder took aim at Burnley stewards for failing to protect his players during a pitch invasion after his team lost at Turf Moor. The Football Association are now looking into the invasion, during which players were goaded by opponents and fans.
