It didn’t take long in OTAs for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy to find some chemistry with new wide receiver Demarcus Robinson.
During team drills in Wednesday’s session, Purdy uncorked a long pass down the left sideline that settled into Robinson’s arms for what would’ve been a touchdown. It was a perfectly-placed deep ball that hit the veteran receiver in stride, and Robinson did well to track the ball without ever turning his body.
A pass in OTAs doesn’t mean it’s time to crown Robinson as the team’s top receiver. However, it’s a good sign that Purdy and the new WR are locked in early in the offseason. With question marks across the receiving corps, Purdy and Robinson getting on the same page could be a crucial element of the 49ers’ passing game this season.
