There were plenty of standout performances from Louisville-area athletes throughout the prep softball season.
Voting is underway for The Courier Journal’s softball player of the year. The poll closes at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, and the winner will be announced Thursday, June 26.

Here are the nominees:
Lauren Satterly, Assumption
Senior Lauren Satterly pitched 122 ⅔ innings, finished with an 18-1 record and struck out 108 in the Rockets’ state championship run. She also had the second-highest batting average on the team (.444) and recorded 11 home runs and 49 RBIs.
Satterly also was a Kentucky Softball Coaches Association first-team All-State selection.
Jozie Lashley, Oldham County
Senior Jozie Lashley hit .622, led the state in home runs (22), tied for first in doubles (21) and had 71 RBIs.
Lashley was a Kentucky Softball Coaches Association honorable-mention All-State selection.
Mollie Johnston, Bullitt East
Junior Mollie Johnston hit .500 (45 for 90) with 10 home runs to lead Bullitt East to a Sixth Region title.
Kelsey Davis, Eastern
Junior Kelsey Davis struck out 166 over 148 ⅔ innings. She finished with a 3.15 ERA and went 16-8.
Bailey Fetcher, Manual
Sophomore Bailey Fetcher, who hit .538, finished in the top 10 for home runs (9) in the state and totaled 53 RBIs.
