Why did Von Miller sign with the Washington Commanders?
We’ll let Miller tell you in his own words from when he met with the press after signing last week.
“It was extremely intentional coming here,” he said. “You just can’t leave [Buffalo Bills QB] Josh Allen and go anywhere, man. You just can’t go from the AFC championship and just go anywhere. And whenever you get older too, losses, they pile up. It seems like they just hit way harder than what they used to when you were young. And this team is all about winning, I’m all about winning. Whatever it takes to win, I’m going to do. That’s on and off the football field.”
The future Hall of Famer named Dan Quinn, Jayden Daniels and the chance to win as reasons he joined the Commanders.
On Sunday, ESPN was present in Ashburn, and Miller joined the set, where he was again asked why he ultimately chose the Commanders. He had a two-word answer.
“Jayden Daniels,” Miller said matter-of-factly.

“They’re gonna score points, they gonna put up a lot of points. So that falls into what I do best. You know, we’re going to have the lead in some of these games and I’m going to get after the passer.”
Miller knows what he’s talking about. He has 129.5 career sacks, which is 16th all-time. However, with 12.5 more sacks, he would move into sixth all-time, and is only three behind Lawrence Taylor.
