The Kansas City Chiefs saw two of their rookies —running back Brashard Smith and offensive lineman Josh Simmons— miss practice on Wednesday, though neither player is said to be injured.
Smith is dealing with an illness and should be expected to rejoin his teammates at workouts later this week if his condition improves.
Simmons was listed as a non-participant due to personal reasons, and a timeline for his return to practice is unclear.
Chiefs Senior Team Reporter Matt McMullen shared Kansas City’s initial injury report for Week 7 in a post to his official Twitter account on Wednesday, October 15:

Despite their status as rookies, Smith and Simmons have both played crucial roles for the Chiefs this season.
Smith has been Kansas City’s top kick returner through six games, while Simmons manned the left tackle position on the Chiefs’ starting offensive line before missing the team’s Week 6 matchup against the Detroit Lions.
