One of the more shocking moments amidst a very eventful offseason for Michigan State basketball was the decision of Tre Holloman to enter the transfer portal and head to NC State. It was a move that led to a lot of anger and confusion from Spartan fans, who were hoping to see as many of the 2024-25 Elite 8 team return next year as possible. On Thursday night, Tre Holloman was back in the Lansing area, making a surprise appearance at the Moneyball Pro-Am to see Jeremy Fears Jr. and Carson Cooper’s team win the championship.
247Sports’ Stephen Brooks was on the scene to catch up with Holloman. Brooks’ first question for Holloman was regarding why he decided to leave East Lansing, which you can see below.
I guess it was just time for me to go to do what’s best for me, for my future. I felt like stepping away was what was best.
