Hendon Hooker got the start in Thursday’s preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons. It…didn’t go very well. Hooker turned the ball over twice, losing two fumbles. Hooker did complete seven passes in ten attempts, but they only went for 38 yards.
The reactions on social media, understandably, weren’t very positive towards Hooker. While the former Tennessee quarterback has performed well in practice, his game film thus far this preseason has left a lot to be desired. Now, there’s some concern going forward about the backup quarterback situation in Detroit.
Here are a few reactions from social media Friday night.

Dan Campbell’s message after last week’s loss to the Chargers :
“You’ve got to take care of the ball, or it’s going to be hard to keep you around.”

Kyle Allen’s confidence in his own decision-making is so advanced from Hooker. Hendon does everything better from an individual skill standpoint, but the total package doesn’t come together like it does for Allen nearly as often. And that’s important.

I know a lot of you are still believers in the Hendon Hooker pick.
I can’t say I’m one of them. Godspeed. #OnePride

Hendon Hooker plays like a raw, late-round rookie QB prospect, except he’s 27 and entering his third season.
This type of play won’t cut it in the NFL.

Hendon Hooker with two fumbles in the first half. Protection was quite poor on the second one, but ball security is an issue tonight.
