Top 20 Best-Selling Games Of 2026 So Far In The US

Circana has published its next monthly sales report for video games in the US, revealing how the industry fared in terms of game and hardware sales.

On the software charts, Resident Evil Requiem was February 2026’s top-seller and is now 2026’s No. 1 best-selling game overall. Rounding out the top five were NBA 2K26, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Madden NFL 26, and Minecraft.

Requiem’s launch-week dollar sales were more than 60% higher than the launch-week total for Resident Evil: Village. Unit sales, meanwhile, rose by 40% for Requiem compared to Village.

Another new release in February 2026 was Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined, and it was February’s No. 9 best-selling game and No. 14 overall for 2026 so far. Nintendo’s Mario Tennis Fever also debuted in February, and it was No. 11 for February, but it did not crack the top 20 for 2026 so far. God of War: Sons of Sparta, meanwhile, was No. 14 for February 2026. It did not reach the top 20 for 2026 so far.

Total spending on video game software in February 2026 was $4.016 billion, which was flat year-over-year. So far in 2026, total software spending rose 1% year-over-year to $8.282 billion.

For hardware, spending rose 22% year-over-year, coming in at $326 million. Spending on Switch 2 was strong enough to offset declines for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the OG Switch.

Through its first nine months on the market, the Switch 2 is pacing 45% ahead of the original Switch in terms of sales in the US.

2026 is the year that GTA 6 releases, and it’s expected to sell better than any other game in the year. But it doesn’t release until November 19, 2026.
