Last July, Magic: The Gathering made a controversial change to the rules of Commander, the 32-year-old game’s most popular format. Moving forward, your commander (aka, the legendary creature who defines the colors and playstyle of your 100-card deck) didn’t need to be a creature at all. It could be a legendary vehicle, or, in a not-so-subtle bit of synergy, it could be a spacecraft.
