It was not that long ago that fans of the Boston Celtics were unsure if backup big man Luke Kornet had a future with the team. Now, those same fans are likely among the many upset about how the Celtics could not hang onto the rising center after the best season of his career in the NBA to date.
Kornet really came into his own with Boston in the 2024-25 regular season, getting more run than he had in the past, with starting bigs Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis taking nights off to rest or injury more than they had in the previous few years. The Celtics took note of his growth as a player as well, putting together a highlight reel of his best plays last season for us to watch later, in honor of what he brought to the team.
