The original PlayStation made its debut in Japan back in Dec. of 1994, meaning that very soon, the Sony console will be 30 years old. To celebrate, Sony is rolling out 30th anniversary editions of its current generation of hardware, including the PlayStation 5 Pro and regular PlayStation 5, all sporting the grey colors of the PS1. Aside from the themed PS5 Pro — which Sony only made 12,300 units for all markets to fight over — some of its other 30th anniversary gear is now available to pre-order at Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and Walmart.
The slim version of the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition is getting the 30th anniversary treatment, and a bundle is available to pre-order for $499.99 at Amazon, Target, Walmart, GameStop, and Best Buy. It comes packaged with a DualSense controller and disc drive cover with the retro color scheme. And yes, this limited edition bundle comes packaged with the paperclip, and other extras shown above.
If you’re nostalgic for the original PlayStation colors, but don’t feel like spending a grip on a new console, 30th anniversary editions of the DualSense controller is available to pre-order for $79.99 from Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart, but stock is tough to come by.
The 30th anniversary version of the $219.99 DualSense Edge is only available via the PlayStation Store, where it’s unfortunately sold out.
Even the PlayStation Portal is getting the 30th-anniversary color scheme treatment. Unfortunately, pre-orders of the limited edition version of Sony’s remote play handheld are currently sold out at PS Direct, where it’s selling exclusively for $219.99.
