Texas A&M vs LSU baseball: Jace LaViolette (hand) to play in SEC Tournament

Jace LaViolette is back in the lineup for Texas A&M baseball.

The junior outfielder left the Aggies’ SEC Tournament second-round game against Auburn early after a pitch hit his left hand Thursday. Texas A&M plays LSU on Friday.

Head coach Michael Earley said postgame that LaViolette, an All-SEC second-teamer this season, would miss the rest of the single-elimination tournament, which ends with the title game Sunday.

But a source close to the team, who wasn’t at liberty to reveal the information publicly, confirmed to the American-Statesman pregame that LaViolette would be batting third for the Aggies in the SEC quarterfinal Friday against LSU.

This story will be updated.
