Technical, price bids submitted in fighter jet engine deal with US

India aimed to finalize a major deal with the US for fighter jet engine technology in the coming months. General Electric had submitted its bids, and negotiations on technology transfer would follow. The $1 billion agreement would allow for 80% technology transfer. Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd planned to produce 99 engines in Bengaluru for the Tejas Mk2 fighter aircraft.
