Taylor Pannell hits walk-off home run for Lady Vols against Auburn

No. 4 Tennessee (35-9, 10-6 SEC) defeated Auburn (27-18, 4-15 SEC), 4-2, Thursday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

The Lady Vols won the game in the seventh inning after Taylor Pannell hit a walk-off two-run home run.

The Tigers led, 2-0, in the sixth inning after AnnaLea Adams hit a two-run single. Tennessee tied the game in the sixth inning after Sophia Nugent and Gabby Leach each hit a solo home run.

Pannell went 3-for-4. She recorded one home run, two RBIs and one run. Nugent went 1-for-3, totaling one home run, one RBI and one run, while Leach also went 1-for-3. She hit one home run, recorded one RBI and scored one run.

Ella Dodge went 2-for-3, hitting a double, while Emma Clarke went 2-for-3 for Tennessee, who recorded 10 hits in the contest against Auburn.

Karlyn Pickens, a three-time reigning SEC and NFCA Pitcher of the Week, pitched a complete game. She allowed two runs, four hits and one walk. Pickens recorded six strikeouts. She totaled 91 pitches, including 66 strikes.
