Talasani’s OSD and TSLDA CEO held in Sheep distribution scheme scam

Hyderabad: In continuation of investigation into sheep distribution scheme scam, Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested two more officials including OSD to the former Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav in the criminal misappropriation case.

The case was registered against the officials of Animal Husbandry department – Sabavath Ramchander Naik, a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Telangana State Livestock Development Agency (TSLDA) and Gundamaraju Kalyan Kumar, who was a former OSD to Yadav.

Both Ramachander and Kumar allegedly colluded and conspired with private persons, resorting to gross illegal acts and violations in the course of discharge of their duties. They violated all the instructions issued for procurement of sheep and deliberately involved private persons and brokers, according to ACB.

With a malafide intention, Ramchander and Kumar deliberately gave instructions to all district Joint Directors/DVAHOs in the department to facilitate misappropriation of government money by private persons. The duo and other private persons illegally obtained undue advantage and caused wrongful loss to the government exchequer and thus misappropriated government funds worth Rs.2.10 crore.

Ramchander and Kumar performed their official duties improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage and caused huge revenue loss to the government exchequer.
