The transfer portal has turned into a major part of college football and has transformed the rosters of the sport. This roster movement affects everyone, and that includes Michigan State.
While Michigan State has benefitted from the transfer portal, they also have suffered departures, which has had affects on fan perspective of the program, aside from the obvious depth chart implications.
Now, week one in the college football world has commenced, and while we have seen where the former Spartans were going next, fans now got to see how the former Spartans performed at their new schools.
Here, we compiled how former notable Spartans fared in their latest adventures in collegiate athletics:

CB Charles Brantley (Miami – FL)
The most high profile transfer from Michigan State this past season was Charles Brantley, who went from MSU to Miami.
In a high profile matchup with Notre Dame on Sunday, Brantley did not appear in the game, and was listed as fourth on the Hurricanes depth chart.
DB Dillon Tatum (Northwestern)
Another high profile transfer, Dillon Tatum left MSU for Northwestern, reuniting with Harlon Barnett. In the Wildcats season opener against Tulane, Tatum only played six snaps, all on special teams. Two on kick coverage, four on punt return and not recording a stat.
Edge Anthony Jones (UCLA)
Another high profile MSU transfer, Jones made his way to UCLA where he is now a starter for the Bruins. In the opener against Utah, Jones played 62 snaps grading as a 61.4 on PFF. He had five tackles and one QB hurry.
DE Ken Talley (Arkansas)
Talley made the move to the SEC, joining Arkansas for the 2025 season. In a win over Alabama A&M, Talley played in 8 snaps and recorded one tackle.
WR Jaron Glover (Mississippi State)
Glover was a high profile transfer from MSU a year ago, with many concerned about the wide receivers departure from the program. He did not see any snaps in Mississippi State’s first game against Southern Miss.
WR Aziah Johnson (North Carolina)
Johnson did not record a stat in UNC’s blowout loss against TCU.
DE James Schott (Miami – OH)
After three years in East Lansing, James Schott transferred to Miami (OH), where he was once committed. In the season opener against Wisconsin, Schott played 15 snaps, recording one tackle.
CB Caleb Coley (Eastern Michigan)
After three years in East Lansing, Coley stayed within the state of Michigan, transferring to Eastern Michigan. In a loss to Texas State, Coley played 28 snaps, recording a tackle. He gave up two passes on two targets, as well.
OL Dallas Fincher (San Diego State)
MSU legacy Dallas Fincher was injured for the Aztecs opener this past weekend.
DL Avery Dunn (Toledo)
After four years in East Lansing, Dunn made the move to transfer to Toledo. In the Rockets first game at Kentucky, Dunn graded out well on PFF, recording one tackle and two QB hurries in 20 snaps.
DB Philipp Davis (Marshall)
Moving on to Marshall from MSU, Davis played 14 snaps in the Thundering Herd’s opener against Georgia.
LB Aaron Alexander (Arkansas State)
After transferring from UMass to MSU, the Belleville (MI) native is now at Arkansas State. Alexander played in nine snaps, recording a tackle against Southeast Missouri State.
TE Ademola Faleye (Washington State)
While he did not record a stat, Faleye played in 24 snaps against Idaho this past week.
Everyone Else
All other unnamed transfers did not appear in game action this past weekend.
