Steelers rookie RB Kaleb Johnson showed Jaguars rookie WR/CB Travis Hunter why there’s more to playing both sides of the ball than catching or defending passes — it all starts with tackling.
One play that stood out from the Steelers’ 31-25 preseason victory over the Jaguars — an elusive and powerful Johnson running right through Hunter’s tackle attempt with scary ease, as the Steelers rookie bounced the 2024 Heisman winner off the turf.

It was inevitable that both rookies would meet in their respective NFL preseason debuts — but considering the hype behind the Jaguars’ two-way player, it’s hard to imagine anyone predicting Johnson would’ve outclassed Hunter in such a manner.
Steelers fans will have their next glimpse at Johnson in action when Pittsburgh hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their second preseason game of the season next Saturday, August 16, at 7:00 PM EST.
