Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrated with fervour in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The auspicious Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with traditional fervour across the city especially at ISKCON temples in Secunderabad and Abids apart from Hare Krishna Golden Temple in Banjara Hills.

Long queues were seen at these popular temples till 2 pm and suddenly the crowd swelled from 6 pm as a large number of devotees turned up to have darshan of Lord Sri Krishna. The ISKCON managements at Secunderabad and Abids distributed specially prepared ‘prasadam’ devotees.

At Hare Krishna Golden Temple, celebrations began with “Shodashopachara Seva” at 4.30 am. Then Lord Sri Radha Govinda was adorned with select flowers, nava vastras, especially crafted jewellery. The enchanting Shringara Arati marked the beginning of darshan, extending the blessings of the divine to devotees from 8 am.

The jhulan or unjala Seva for Sri Makhan Krishna commenced simultaneously, granting attendees the honor of participating in this sacred ritual. In the morning, the auspicious “Sri Sudharshana Narasimha homa” was performed for the welfare and prosperity of one and all.

The offering of 56 meticulously crafted food preparations known as chappan bhog captivated all hearts, followed by a splendid raja bhoga arati enhanced by resonant bhajans and kirtans. The police made elaborate arrangements at these the temples ensuring proper queue inside while having darshan and availing ‘prasadam’
