By the sword of Erdrick! Dragon Quest is 40 years old this year. To celebrate the JRPG’s anniversary, Square Enix is releasing six new figures in its Metallic Monsters Gallery line, with pre-orders open at Square Enix’s Japanese store ahead of the July 17 release date. There’s just one problem, though. That webstore doesn’t ship to the US.
If you’re trying to get your hands on these new gold Dragon Quest figures, you’ll be waiting to see how third party stores handle pricing, shipping, and tariffs. If you’re new to the collection, though, there’s a whole army of Metallic Monsters waiting a little closer to home.
This range of (you guessed it) metallic coated Dragon Quest models has been receiving regular updates for a couple of years now. There’s a dedicated band of collectors out there grabbing each of these replicas, and some are more rare than others. However, Square Enix’s official Amazon storefront has a whole bunch of starter figures to get you on your path to complete the Dragonlord’s horde.
New 40th Anniversary Dragon Quest Metallic Monsters Gallery figures

The latest line of Dragon Quest Metallic Monsters Gallery figures comes in shiny gold, re-coloring everything from slimes to the Dragonlord himself in a brassy finish with just a few dabs of color.
The 40th Anniversary collection includes Slime, King Slime, Liquid Metal, Dragon, Dragonlord and True Dragonlord, with extra drops spanning magical items like Erdrick’s armor and weapons. Prices start at 2,530 yen (approx $16) and run all the way up to 9,900 yen ($63).

New to these figures? Square Enix also has an official storefront at Amazon, which is where you’ll find a whole bunch of previous releases. It’s worth keeping an eye on this page should the 40th Anniversary collection make its way over the ocean.
