Should the Pacers get new uniforms? Tyrese Haliburton thinks so, or even throwbacks threads

Will the Indiana Pacers listen to their franchise player? Tyrese Haliburton was live-streaming on his Twitch channel playing the new NBA 2K26 video game as part of its early release weekend and commented on the Pacers‘ uniform selections.

The Pacers unveiled their uniform sets ahead of the 2017-18 season and were met with mixed reactions, largely unpleasant after a dayslong build up of hints on social media. According to Chris Creamer’s database, the circular word art around the number is the third-longest worn threads since the franchise’s inception.

And now Haliburton has joined the ranks of those disliking the uniforms. Haliburton on his stream said “them is cool” when it came to the current white jerseys but let out a resounding, “No,” when it came to the blues.

The 25-year-old Haliburton proceeded to call the throwback threads, “Hard,” which has become more common for “fire” or “I like these,” among other similar terminology. He even stopped at the striped uniforms that the Pacers wore from 1990-97 and said, “If they just went to this … I’m rolling.”

How about the famed pinstripes worn by Reggie Miller? “That would be the dream world.” And the ones that sandwich between the pinstripes and the current uniforms? “Even that is better than what we got right now.”

It would seem late in the game to get new uniforms by the Oct. 7 preseason opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves, which Haliburton won’t play in anyway. But, it gives the franchise a lengthy runway to work on new uniforms and perhaps the typical new branding that comes with such a move by the time Haliburton returns to the court in 2026-27.

Tyrese Haliburton and Caitlin Clark rehab injuries together

The injury bug has hit the hardwood hard in Indiana. Fever star Caitlin Clark has been on and off the court as she’s dealt with her own injuries. Haliburton talked about how they have rehabbed together.

The duo have led support for each others’ teams, too. It was common to see Clark and her teammates at Pacers games, especially throughout the NBA playoffs. Similarly, Haliburton and his teammates have been courtside at Fever games, or in a luxury suite once Haliburton suffered his injury.
