New Delhi: Seven newly inducted Union Ministers took charge of their respective portfolios allotted to them in New Delhi on Tuesday
MPs Ashwini Vaishnaw, Suresh Gopi, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Chirag Paswan, Jayant Chaudhary, Dr L. Murugan and Manohar Lal Khattar took charge in their chambers.
After assuming charge as Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw said the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was dedicated to the upliftment of the poor.
He said the first Cabinet decision of constructing three crore rural and urban houses on the first day of the Government was devoted to the empowerment of poor. Stating that the government would continue to serve the people of the country, he expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for giving him an opportunity to serve as the Minister of Information and Broadcasting.
Suresh Gopi, who took charge as Minister of State in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry, said “I am looking forward to having a series of meetings with officials to get more information about the Ministry.”
While Jyotiraditya Scindia took charge as Minister for Communications, Manohar Lal Khattar as Power Minister and Jayant Chaudhary as Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
After assuming charge as Minister of Food Processing Industries, MP Chirag Paswan said, “I have come here to fulfill the responsibility that has been given to me with dedication, loyalty and hard work. It’s a department that will directly benefit the farmers. It will help double their income.”
Speaking after taking charge as Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr Murugan expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for reposing his faith in him. He said the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting plays a key role in executing government policies by acting as a communication bridge between the government and the people of the country.
