Gunmen suspected of attempting to assassinate Republican US Presidential candidate Donald Trump are believed to be strong supporters of Ukraine. The accused, Routh, had expressed violent rhetoric on social media and was involved in recruiting soldiers for Ukraine’s war effort. He had previously traveled to Ukraine and sought support from Afghan soldiers.
