Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings – Oct. 15

The eighth set of Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings of the season has been released, with St. John Bosco Braves for the fifth consecutive week in a row sitting atop at No. 1, respectively. Consistently behind St. John Bosco is IMG Academy (Fla.) followed by St. Frances Academy (Md), which the the latter two teams are slated to square off on Nov. 7 in Bradenton.

Who else cracks the latest set of national high school football composite Top 25 rankings this week?

Below are the top-25 teams in the Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings, a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected media and data companies. It includes Massey, MaxPreps, ESPN and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced ranking.

1. St. John Bosco Braves (Calif.)

For the fifth straight week in a row, the St. John Bosco Braves (7-0) are the No. 1 team in the land according to the Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings. The Braves have been nothing less than impressive through the first seven weeks of the season, with impressive victories along the way over St. Frances Academy (Md.) and St. Louis (HI), respectively. Texas A&M commit Madden Williams has been terrific for St. John Bosco this season, catching 24 passes for 467 yards and six touchdowns.

The final three games will be no cake walk whatsoever for the Braves as they take on a Santa Margarita bunch that just upset Mater Dei, which St. John Bosco is set to face on Halloween. These final weeks leading the October holiday could get extra spooky.

2. IMG Academy Ascenders (Fla.)

The IMG Academy (6-0) have been the most dominant, consistent football program out of the Sunshine State, though the Ascenders were in a battle last week not far from home. The Ascenders made the short trip down to Sarasota County recently and defeated Venice (Fla.) in a 27-14 decision.

IMG Academy received a huge performance through the air via sophomore four-star wide receiver Eric McFarland, who caught eight passes for 117 yards and three touchdowns. The Ascenders will be playing from the friendly confines of home every week from here on out and begin this Friday night against the NFL Academy., who are coming off a 41-38 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas in London.

3. St. Frances Academy Panthers (Md.)

St. Frances Academy (4-1) was arguably the most impressive team after the first major weekend of high school football, as they cruised to a 42-13 thrashing of Chaminade-Madonna Prep (Fla) at the Broward County Classic. The Panthers’ lone loss this season so far came when they traveled across the country to take on No. 1 St. John Bosco and narrowly lost in a 21-14 decision.

The Panthers stayed pat in this week’s latest set of rankings after a 60-0 rout of St. Thomas More (Conn.) in Baltimore. St. Frances Academy is back at home this week when they take on New Jersey power, Hun School. A game we’re really looking forward to however is on Nov. 1 when the Panthers face The St. James Academy (Va.).

4. Grayson Rams (Ga.)

Grayson (7-0) has throughly dominated its last five opponents, winning by a combined 263-26. All the Rams have gone out and done is win important games against regional powers like Alabama’s Thompson and a 63-13 rout of Mallard Creek (N.C.), respectively. Junior signal caller Deuce Smith has taken the controls of the offense for Grayson and has played admirably behind center.

The Rams made easy work of Rockdale County last week in a 58-10 dismantling. Now Grayson has a bye week before they return to action on Oct. 24 against South Gwinnett.

5. Buford Wolves (Ga.)

Buford’s (7-0) has had arguably one of the most impressive starts of any Georgia team this 2025 high school football season because of the programs they’ve faced.

First up to start the season was a meeting with No. 18 Milton, with the Wolves coming away with a 20-13 victory on national television. The Wolves then hit the road to Savannah to face a very good Benedictine Military School squad and won by multiple scores. The 65-21 rout of Roswell a few weeks ago leaves many wondering if Buford could be the team to beat for Georgia’s Class 6A state championship when it’s all said and done against Grayson (see above).

It was smooth sailing last week for the Wolves as they rolled easily to a 58-7 romp over Dacula. This Friday night Buford faces off against Central Gwinnett.

6. Bishop Gorman Gaels (Nev.)

Bishop Gorman (7-1) notched their second straight 58-0 victory, defeating Mojave (Nev.) last week.

The Gaels three weeks ago was able to come away with a 14-0 win over the Santa Margarita Eagles, bouncing back from their lone loss of the season against Mater Dei (Calif.). Hawaii commitment Maika Eugenio has been terrific on the offensive side of the ball, throwing for 2,078 yards and 25 touchdowns on the season.

It is a forgone conclusion that the Gaels are destined to win another Nevada state championship, but that’s not the ultimate goal for this program as they continue to remain in the national picture. Bishop Gorman should run the table the rest of the way to a 9-1 regular season record as they face instate competition. The Gaels are back on the field this Friday night against winless Somerset Academy Losee (0-8).

7. Southlake Carroll Dragons (TX)

The Southlake Carroll Dragons (6-0), which has played the most impressively and consistently of any high school football team out of Texas.

The Dragons last week added another blowout win when they rolled to a 66-7 victory over Eaton last week. Up next for Southlake Carroll is a home matchup against Northwest.

With last week’s win, Southlake Carroll head coach Riley Dodge earned his 100 victory at his alma mater. It adds to the growing list of accomplishments the team has already set and is on pace to this 2025 campaign.

8. Centennial Huskies (Calif.)

Returning inside of the Top 10 of the Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings’ Top 10 is the Centennial Huskies (6-1), which most recent win was a 63-14 beatdown of Vista Murrieta. The Huskies are optimistic about their chances of competing for the CIF’s Open Division state championship because of the myriad of talent they possess on the defensive line.

Both senior three-star linebacker Jonathan McKinley (Cal commit) and junior defensive lineman Miles Schirmer, who has overtures from programs like Notre DameTexasWashington and USC, lead a very talented front seven. On offense, Boise State three-star tight end commit Keawe Browne (13 catches, 232 yards) leads a potent passing attack. Quarterback Dominick Catalano has been solid behind center, throwing for 1,214 yards and 14 touchdowns this fall.

Centennial hits the road this week to face Murrieta Valley.

9. Edna Karr Cougars (La.)

The Edna Karr Cougars (6-0) continue to make the case to being one of the Southeast’s top teams as they made quick work of Brother Martin last week in a 48-13 decision.

Edna Karr finally broke through into the Top 10 of the Rivals Composite rankings after they soundly defeated St. Augustine, 42-21. The Cougars also owns an impressive win over Florida’s American Heritage, 24-17, from earlier in the season when they met in New Orleans.

There’s not many defenses that feature the kind of star power the Cougars do across the board. Edna Karr’s front seven is led by LSU four-star defensive tackle commit Richard Anderson and the secondary is stacked with Division I talent.

The Cougars take on New Orleans Jesuit this Friday night as they look to remain undefeated.

10. Sierra Canyon Trailblazers (Calif.)

The third team out of the great state of California in the latest Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings within the Top 10 ranks are the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers (7-0).

Sierra kept the good times rolling being one of California’s top high school football programs as they beat Chaminade, 45-14.

Senior quarterback Laird Finkel has been the steady hand behind center, throwing for over 1,500 yards and 11 touchdowns this fall. Leading the team defensively is senior EDGE Richard Wesley (Texas commitment), who has a team-high 9.5 tackles for loss and five sacks.

Next time the Trailblazers take the field is Friday night against Notre Dame.
