�Kakinada: Two Town police of Rajamahendravaram rescued a woman who jumped into River Godavari from the road-cum-railway bridge with the help of fishermen.

The police had received a call that a woman jumped into the river from the bridge.

Two Town sub-inspector S. Rathaiah and constable Leela Kumar rushed to the spot. They alerted fishermen who were catching fish in their boats near the spot.

The fishermen immediately reached the woman and pulled her out from the river.

Police brought the woman to the police station and informed her family members.

The woman Dudala Nagalakshmi (40) had jumped into the river due to family disputes. Police counselled the family members and Nagalakshmi before sending her home.
