Prabhas rocks, Kalki trounces Salaar in AP/TS?

Undoubtedly, reigning star Prabhas’s stocks are soaring high and his business range is expanding too. According to distributors, the business of much-hyped ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has reportedly surpassed ‘Salaar’ in the two Telugu states. “No doubt, ‘Kalki’ beats ‘Salaar’ in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Since ‘Kalki’ has been sold for over Rs 160 crores plus in the two Telugu states, while ‘Salaar’ was sold for Rs 130 crores last year,” says the distributor.

Even though the heady combination of Prabhas and Prashanth Neel was ahead since it was a big action film with over-the-top heroism that fetched a good price, the interesting combination of Prabhas and intelligent filmmaker Nag Ashwin has also silently triggered hype around the thriller and distributors are lining up before producer Aswini Dutt’s house. “The massive science-fiction film has raised the expectations and Telugu audiences are awaiting to watch the time travel movie with much interest,” he points out.

Right now, the promotions are centered around Prabhas and his futuristic car Bujji, the makers will boost their prospects after planning promotions with Amitabh, Kamal Hassan and Deepika in the pipeline. “If these two legendary actors utter a few words about their roles and film, it is bound to create ripples in North and South India,” he concludes.
