Poll results: See who was picked as the favorite place in Athens to watch Georgia football

Earlier this week, we asked our readers to pick their favorite place in Athens to watch the UGA football game. Locos Grill & Pub emerged victorious with 43% of the vote.

Our poll was conducted from Wednesday, Aug. 27, to noon on Friday, Aug. 29, and recorded a total of 104 individual votes, 45 of which went to Locos from our list of 10 options.

The runners-up were Nowhere Bar, the downtown Blind Pig Tavern, and Cutters Pub. Just behind them with seven votes each were Buffalo Wild Wings, Hi-Lo Lounge, and Normal Bar.

Founded in 1988 by University of Georgia students Jamey Loftin and Hughes Lowrance, Locos started as a convenience store before opening their first restaurant on Harris Street in Athens in 1990, where it remained until 2013. The eastside Locos opened in 1992 on Barnett Shoals Road, and the Timothy Road location followed in 2020.
