The Zurich Classic had a leaderboard lacking in PGA Tour victories.
But you have to start somewhere.
Winners Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin are credited with their first career titles after shooting 28-under-par 260. Runners-up Nicolas and Rasmus Højgaard have yet to win on the PGA Tour.
Jake Knapp, Luke List and Karl Vilips were the only players among the 22 on the top-11 teams that tied for 10th or higher who have won on the PGA Tour.
As a result, most of the movement on the money list was from the back.
Rory McIlroy still leads in earnings
The top five remained the same, led by Rory McIlroy with $13,326,650, who earned $170,967 with partner Shane Lowry for a tie for 12th. No. 2 Justin Thomas and No. 3 Russell Henley didn’t play. Collin Morikawa remained fourth despite missing the cut with Kurt Kitiyama. And No. 5 Ludvig Aberg also stayed put, despite not playing.
The biggest shake-up came from the winners. Novak moved from 11th to sixth with his first-place check of $1,329,400 and Griffin went from 46th to 25th and almost doubled his season’s earnings in one tournament.
Other contenders had even more of a jump since they had experienced dismal seasons before last week. David Lipsky and Dylan Wu, who tied for fourth, both moved up 36 points on the money list. Taylor Dickson jumped 38 positions. Frankie Capan III jumped 43 spots and Nicola Højgaard went up 45 spots.
The biggest jump was by Trace Crowe, who went from 218th to 152nd with his $242,076. He had earned only $8,039 before playing in New Orleans.
Who joined the millionaires club?
Passing $1 million in earnings in New Orleans were Isaiah Salinda, Vilips and Rasmus Højgaard. There are now 70 players who have earned $1 million or more in on-course earnings this season, compared to 74 at the same time last year.
