PFF reveals Broncos’ bounce-back candidate for 2025 season

Pro Football Focus released its picks for the 32 players across each team in line for a bounce-back season. Up and down seasons happen often in the NFL. PFF writer Dalton Wasserman nabbed Denver Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga as a player who could benefit from a bounce-back season in 2025. Hufanga was limited to only seven games in 2024 and looks to contribute strongly to an already loaded Broncos defense.

“Hufanga was limited to just seven games last season due to injury and posted a career-low 57.8 PFF grade,” Wasserman wrote for PFF. “If fully healthy, he appears to have landed in an ideal spot with Denver. Hufanga is most comfortable operating around the box as a traditional strong safety, while his new teammate, Brandon Jones, is one of the league’s top pure free safeties. Jones’ 89.8 coverage grade ranked third among qualified safeties in 2024. Together, they have the potential to form one of the NFL’s best safety duos.”

A score of 57.8 on the Pro Football Focus score is low. But it can easily be attributed to a Hufanga who wasn’t healthy. Hopefully, Hufanga can live up to PFF’s billing to turn it around in 2025.
