With the Oregon State football team approaching the upcoming season, BeaversEdge takes a closer look at the Beavers’ incoming transfer class rankings. With several of those key transfers expected to play a big role this season, we take a closer look at the 34th-ranked Oregon State transfer class.

On3’s Team Transfer Portal Index utilizes the On3 (P)erformance score to measure a team’s production during the transfer process, compared relative against its roster and not a comparison against other schools. This proprietary algorithm determines if a school has improved its overall team talent, stayed the same, or declined in talent during the transfer window.

Oregon State’s Team Transfer Rankings

Per the ON3 transfer class rankings of 2025, Oregon State finished with the 34th-best class, which is a pretty impressive mark when you consider where the Beavers typically finish in class rankings. The Beavers were very close to Maryland and Virginia Tech, all three with an overall index score of nine. Notably, the Beavers were one position higher than top-tier programs like Penn State and Florida State, and several tiers higher than Notre Dame, Arizona State, and others. The Beavers brought in 14 total transfers and lost 18, all with three-star rankings.

Oregon State Player Rankings

It should come as little surprise to Oregon State fans, but quarterback Maalik Murphy was the Beavers’ top-ranked transfer addition this offseason. Murphy is expected to play a crucial role for the team this season and was arguably the most important transfer of the offseason.

TEs Riley Williams and Jackson Bowers come next, and the Beavers got two key players who will be able to help their TE production. Williams will likely see the most time in the short term, but the Beavers are very excited about Bowers.

Moving on down the line, three more players who are expected to play sizable roles this season in linebacker Raesjon Davis, edge Walker Harris, and running back Marquis Crosby. Davis looks poised to snag a starting role in the linebacking corps, while Harris will see time at edge rusher, and Crosby will push Salahadin Allah for backup RB snaps.

Moving on down the line, you’re beginning to see why, from top to bottom, this is an effective transfer class for Oregon State. Numerous players in this mix will play key roles this season, and we continue…

Starting with offensive lineman Josiah Timoteo, after being an every-game starter for the Wolfpack at tackle last season, I’d be surprised if he’s not one of the starting five to start the year. EDGE Kai Wallin may be one of the defensive standouts of camp so far, and he appears poised to lock down a spot opposite Nikko Taylor.

TJ Crandall was off to a really strong camp before going down with an injury, and he was a guy who certainly would have figured into the rotation. UCF Keyon Cox has also seen significant time this fall camp. It’s hard to say where exactly he’ll fit in, but another guy the Beavers have been high on. Will Larkins is also in the mix as well coming over from Georgia State, and has positional versatility.

Tyjai Hopper hasn’t seen much action in camp, but the defensive backfield is extremely deep.

Last but certainly not least, we arrive at the final two transfer additions, Tahjae Mullix and J.T. Hand. Mullix figures to see time in Oregon State’s defensive line rotation this season, while Hand is still looking to make his Beaver debut, but is a veteran with key experience should he get healthy.
