NIMS Doctors Perform Life-Saving Surgery, Rescues 26-Year-Old Tribal Man

Hyderabad: Doctors at NIMS hospital in Hyderabad successfully saved the life of a 26-year-old man by performing a life-saving surgery on Saturday.

The patient, Sodi Nandu, a member of the Gothi Koya tribe, sustained a severe chest injury that punctured his heart. He was initially treated at the area hospital in Bhadrachalam, where he was stabilized before being referred to MGM hospital in Warangal and eventually to the NIMS CTVS (Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery) department in Hyderabad.

Led by Dr. Amaresh Rao Malempati, Professor and Head of the Department of Cardio Thoracic Surgery at NIMS, a team performed the critical surgery.

Following the procedure, the patient’s condition has stabilized, and he is currently recovering well, the doctors said.
