NFL Draft stock report: buy rating- Oregon TE Kenyon Sadiq

After winning 34-14 at Northwestern on Saturday, the head coach of the #4 Oregon Ducks, Dan Lanning, made this observation about his team: “Thought we lacked a little killer instinct there at the end.”

He’s right. Yes, they won by 24 points in their conference opener, on the road at Northwestern Medicine Field, and yet it was still a game that they should have killed off better. It was far from their best outing, but it was still a win by three touchdowns and a field goal.

Four different Ducks scored touchdowns against Northwestern, including tight end Kenyon Sadiq. Everyone raves about his blocking- that’s a given. However, Sadiq is an elite-level pass catcher too.

Running back Jayden Limar, who also scored today, was Sadiq’s roommate his freshman year. During his postgame media session today, Limar described what makes Sadiq so special: “He’s always been one of those dudes, very consistent when the ball goes up you know he’s going to come down with it.

“When you see him going downfield one-on-one, you know what is going to happen.”

Where Sadiq goes in this April’s draft depends on how much tight ends are valued, by and large in the NFL. It is very likely he’ll be the first tight end off the board, but where and when that happens is hard to predict.
