The Michigan Wolverines will get an official visit from five-star 2026 wing Anthony Thompson on Sept. 5, according to Joe Tipton of On3/Rivals.
Thompson is also scheduled to visit North Carolina on August 22nd, Ohio State on August 29th, Indiana on September 12th, Texas on September 19th and Kentucky on September 24th. Michigan was among his top 7 schools announced this summer and all but one of them, Purdue, will be getting an official visit. He is expected to announce shortly after that and sign in November.
The Rivals Industry Ranking has Thompson as a five-star prospect and the No. 3 small forward in the country. He is the top-ranked player in the state of Ohio and plays his high school ball at Western Reserve Academy in Lebanon.
Michigan currently has one player committed in its 2026 class in center Marcus Moller out of Denmark, who pledged to the program and head coach Dusty May back in July. He is currently unranked by the major services.
May and the Wolverines signed three high school players in the 2025 cycle, headlined by guard Trey McKenney, the No. 21 overall recruit in the country. Forwards Winters Grady (No. 59) and Patrick Liburd (No. 286) rounded out the class as four and three-star prospects, respectively.

Michigan quote of the day
”Coach Newsome is doing a really good job this year. Last year was a lot of our first times, especially for him too, and it was a little stressful. Now, we kind of just chill, lean back and look at the bigger picture. And Juan [Castillo] is the best. We’re with him every day since January. Whenever we want to do any work or wherever it is, we’ll go up to him. It’s like he lives here. It’s actually scary. He’s here all day and he always wants to just help us get better, and we love him so much. We wish we had him sooner.”
