A Nebraska quarterback commit won his season opener on Thursday night. Dayton Raiola and the Buford Wolves defeated the Milton Eagles 20-13 in a national broadcast on ESPN2.
Dayton Raiola is the younger brother of Nebraska starting quarterback Dylan Raiola. Dayton committed to the Huskers during the 2024 season and finished the year tossing 1,953 passing yards and 19 touchdowns across 14 games, helping the Wolves to a 6A semi-final finish.
Before announcing his commitment to Nebraska, the younger Raiola also received offers from Appalachian State and Charlotte. Thursday’s game was also the debut event for Buford High School’s $62 million high school football stadium. The Phillip Beard Stadium itself features 10,000 seats, a 3,500-square-foot video board, 15 luxury suites, and a two-story field house.
Buford will retake the field on Friday, Aug. 22, at 7:30 p.m. CT against Benedictine Military School in Savannah, Georgia. Find Dylan Raiola highlights by scrolling below.
