The Nebraska Cornhuskers (2-0) will wrap up the nonconference portion of their 2025 schedule when the Huskers welcome FCS foe Houston Christian (1-1) to Memorial Stadium. Nebraska is coming off a 68-0 victory over Akron last Saturday in the home opener. The Huskies lost last week at Eastern Kentucky 20-10.
This will be the first time these two schools have met on the football field. It will be the 16th time that Nebraska has played against an FCS school with a record of 15-0. Houston Christian is a member of the Southland Conference. Nebraska is 3-0 all-time against current Southland members, posting a 2-0 record against McNeese State and a 1-0 record against Nicholls.
The Huskers will look to win their ninth consecutive game against a nonconference opponent and complete nonconference play unbeaten for the second straight season.
The team will honor the 2025 Nebraska Football Hall of Fame Class on the field before the game. The Huskers will also present the first-ever Legends Award to 1972 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Rodgers.
