Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s super-viral engagement announcement Tuesday afternoon sent Swifties far and wide into a tizzy. It also set the stage for the betrothed couple’s first public appearance together at Thursday night’s season-opening showdown between Cincinnati and Nebraska inside Arrowhead Stadium — home of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs.
And while the Cornhuskers’ 20-17 win spoiled the moment for Jason and Travis Kelce — both Bearcats alums — and their significant others, it capped off a wild week for the all involved.
Potentially looking to ride that wave Friday morning, the Nebraska social media team inexplicably posted the iconic picture of the Kelce-Swift engagement the pair shared Tuesday on Instagram, only with Cornhusker mascot Herbie Husker photoshopped in place of Travis Kelce in the romantic scene. Someone clearly thought better of it and quickly deleted the post. But the internet never forgets.
