National Academy of Sciences rebuffs Trump EPA’s effort to undo regulations fighting climate change

The National Academy of Sciences says evidence supporting a 2009 U.S. government finding that climate change threatens public health is “beyond scientific dispute” and that evidence supporting that finding has only grown stronger. The NAS report challenges a Trump administration effort to reverse government policy underpinning many environmental protections. The NAS is an independent nonprofit that seeks to advise policyholders on science. Their report highlights the dangers of fossil fuel emissions, including extreme temperatures and ocean changes. The Trump administration has argued climate change is real, but its future effects are unclear and likely weaker than projected by many mainstream scientists.
