Michigan State basketball signs three commits, has eyes on another big target too

Michigan State basketball has officially signed all of its verbal commits in the 2026 class.

The college basketball signing period opened on Wednesday, with recruits able to turn their verbal commitments into signed commitments. That included all three of the Spartans commits in the 2026 class.

Four-star point guard Carlos Medlock Jr. and four-star power forward Julius Avent signed with the Spartans on Wednesday, and four-star shooting guard Jasiah Jervis completed the trio with his signature on Thursday. Those three signees for the Spartans gives them currently the No. 5 class nationally and No. 2 class in the Big Ten behind only Purdue.

Things could be getting even better for the Spartans this week, as five-star center Ethan Taylor is scheduled to announce his commitment on Friday. Michigan State is considered on of the favorites for Taylor, and should they land his commitment, they’ll move up even higher in the rankings.
