When the Pittsburgh Steelers signed quarterback Mason Rudolph in the offseason, Aaron Rodgers was not on the roster. Rodgers signed with the team in late June and Rudolph just kept doing his thing, working hard and being a great teammate. This is how Rudolph has always handled himself and when he spoke to the media on Saturday, he reiterated that he’s glad to be back in Pittsburgh and it feels like home.
“It feels like home. I’ve spent a lot of summers here and I’m comfortable,” Rudolph said. “It’s just good to be back with so many good friends and a coaching staff that I know very well, and some new faces that I’ve really enjoyed meeting.”
Rudolph spent his first his first four NFL seasons with the Steelers. He went 8-4-1 as a starter before signing a free-agent contract with the Tennessee Titans in 2024. Pittsburgh signed Rudolph back at the start of free agency and he has cemented his role as the team’s No. 2 behind Rodgers. The team is confident in Rudolph that if he’s called on to start, he can perform.
