Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Arc System Work’s next head-turning fighting game, is putting a new spin on tag fighters by having players assemble their team over the course of a match.
A new Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls beginner’s guide video gives fans their best look yet at the game’s mechanics and systems. The video reveals that matches, which are played in a best-of-three rounds, don’t start with each player having their full four-player team assembled.
Instead, players start the match with two characters each. Executing a successful throw or landing certain special attacks in specific locations will cause a stage transition that also sees a player’s third, and when done again, fourth character join the team. Allies additionally will join a player’s team when knocking an opponent into a stage’s corner or upon losing a round.
